Bullshit.
You can criticize him for being a bit over confident and arguably he should have cracked on when in front, but the winner had the momentum when it came alongside and won a very close race with both jockeys pushing hard in the drive to the line. The fact that they pulled many lengths clear of some decent opposition shows that both were trying.
